Could Diddy Lose His Mansions and Real Estate Holdings? Legal Experts Weigh In

As Sean “Diddy” Combs is dealing with the aftermath of having two of his homes raided in connection to several lawsuits related to sexual assault and trafficking, legal experts are providing insight on whether the entertainment mogul’s properties can be seized.

Combs owns two homes in California. The first is in the Holmby Hills section of Los Angeles, which he purchased in 2014. In 2009, he bought a home for Kim Porter, the mother of three of his children. Porter died in 2018. Combs also owns two mansions on Star Island, an exclusive area in Miami.

Two of Combs’ homes — one in Los Angeles and another in Miami — were raided on March 25 in connection with a Homeland Security human trafficking investigation. At present, four women and a man are suing Combs for sexual misconduct. Ex-girlfriend Cassie Venture settled a lawsuit against Combs in November, which also accused Combs of abuse and sexual misconduct.

And while Combs has claimed that these lawsuits are “meritless accusations,” the investigation against him continues. If Combs is charged with anything that occurred in any of his residences, the homes could indeed be seized, experts say.

“Were these properties an effective co-conspirator in these alleged crimes — allowing and facilitating Mr. Combs’ alleged engagement in illegal activities?” Priya Sopori, partner at Greenberg Glusker shared with Fox News Digital. “If so, and if Mr. Combs were to be found guilty of those alleged crimes, then the properties themselves could be seized by the government.”

Yet former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani added that proving a property’s connection to a crime is difficult.

“RICO does allow for the forfeiture of properties that are the proceeds of criminal activity, but that’s going to be difficult to prove in Diddy’s case,” Rahmani told Fox Business. “He has legitimate businesses like music, clothing, alcohol and perfume.”

What’s At Stake For Diddy?

Combs, who is worth a reported $90 million, has been in the entertainment industry for over 30 years. As the head of Combs Global, he operates a portfolio of companies related to media, fashion, beverages, and other consumer products. In November 2023, he ended his partnership with Capital Prep Charter School. That same month, Combs stepped down as CEO of Revolt TV. In March, he sold his remaining shares in the company.
