Drake Set to Sell His $88 Million Beverly Hills Mansion Amid Volatile Rap Beef with Compton Rapper Kendrick Lamar

Hip-hop artist Drake is the news again, but this time it’s not because of his chart-topping hits, breaking records on Billboard, nor his headline-grabbing beef with rap rival Kendrick Lamar. The artist is making a major move in his real estate portfolio, listing his opulent $88 million Beverly Hills on the market through The Beverly Hills Estates agency.

Placing the property up for sale not only sent ripples through both the real estate world, but also in the realm of celebrity gossip.

Originally acquired from British singer Robbie Williams and his actress wife Ayda Field in 2022, Drake’s palatial estate is now up for grabs after not even two years of ownership.

Drake Was Living In 90210 Luxury

Prior to settling into this extravagant abode, Drake was no stranger to luxury, having rented a sprawling 18,000-square-foot $65 million mansion in Beverly Hills for a brief stint, at a jaw-dropping monthly rate of $215,000, according to AllHipHop.com. The home sits on about 20 acres of land.

The home that is up for sale is located close to the Beverly Hills Hotel; the 25,000-square-foot property boasts an array of lavish amenities.

The main residence has seven bedrooms and 13 bathrooms, along with a capacious garage large enough to store 11 vehicles.

The house boasts formal living and dining rooms, a gourmet kitchen with a breakfast room, a library, and two family rooms, one of which doubles as a professional screening room.

There are three ensuite bedrooms for staff to occupy. Additionally, the property is equipped with the latest amenities, including an elevator, wine cellar, gym, and game room.

Complementing the main house is a poolside guest house, a discreetly tucked-away tennis court, and a picturesque orchard.

Three Days of Drama In His Toronto Home

However, swirling around five-time Grammy winning artist’s Beverly Hills haven is controversy.

A week before, his Canadian property in the upscale Bridle Path neighborhood of Toronto was thrust into the spotlight due to a series of trespasses and attempted break-ins.

Reports from the Toronto Police Service state that there was a shooting outside Drake’s Toronto estate, known as The Embassy, around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7.

A day later, on Wednesday, May 8,  Toronto Police Service spokesperson Laura Brabant says, someone attempted to break into his house. The day after, on Thursday, May 9,  the mansion had another attempted break-in, according to Forbes.

The mansion has become a focal point in the ongoing rap feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar.

The Pulitzer Prize winner used an image of Drake’s Toronto residence, with markers resembling those found on a sex offender registry, as the cover art for his diss track “Not Like Us,” targeted at the Champagne Papi.

Rap Beef Between Two Rap Gods

The rap rivalry between Drake and Lamar has been steadily escalating since March 22, when K-Dot did a featured verse on Future’s “Like That,” where he directly addressed the “God’s Plan” rapper.

Things really heated up on April 19, when Drake clapped back with “Push Ups” and the “Taylor Made Freestyle.”

The freestyle caused a stir in the music industry as it incorporated an AI-generated voice of Tupac Shakur, causing the late West Coast legend’s estate promptly demanded Drake to remove it from all digital streaming platforms due to the unauthorized use of his voice.

Lamar wasted no time in retaliating to Drake’s tracks, dropping his own bombs “euphoria” and “6:16 in LA” on April 30. Drake swiftly countered with “Family Matters,” taking aim at Lamar’s family. But Lamar, like a lyrical ninja, struck back within an hour with the blistering “Meet the Grahams” and followed it up with “Not Like Us” within 24 hours.

These songs directly targeted each member of Drake’s family, emphasizing his surname Graham. It also levied serious accusations of criminal misconduct involving underage females against Drake.

Speculation is rife that Drake’s decision to part ways with his Beverly Hills mansion may be interpreted as a strategic move amidst the turbulence of his ongoing feud. Lamar is a native of Compton and the California mansion might be too close to those troubled waters.

Compton is a city located in the southern region of Los Angeles County, California. It is situated just south of downtown Los Angeles and only a 30-to-45-minute ride to Beverly Hills.

However, none of that is substantiated. Drizzy has not released a statement regarding the sale of the luxurious mansion.
