The Jumpman is soaring high. It seems Michael Jordan has acquired a new Gulfstream G650ER jet, reportedly worth up to $70 million.
The six-time NBA champion’s jet may be the “flyest” of all, featuring a sleek, $500,000 custom paint job inspired by his iconic Air Jordan sneakers. Beyond its striking look, it’s also one of the fastest jets in the world, according to The Daily Mail.
This acquisition places Jordan, with a net worth of $3.5 billion, among an elite group of billionaires like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.
Inside the Gulfstream
Spotted at Palm Beach International Airport with the tail number N236MJ, the jet pays tribute to Jordan’s Hall of Fame career, incorporating his famous No. 23 jersey, six championship rings, and his initials.
According to Business Insider, the G650ER is registered under MJ Air LLC, part of Jordan’s family office, Jump Management.
The Gulfstream G650ER can fly 8,630 miles nonstop, reaching speeds of Mach 0.925, making possible trips like Florida to Tokyo without refueling. Inside, up to 19 passengers can relax in oversized leather recliner seats by each window, enjoy a separate dining area, and sip drinks from a fully stocked, LED-lit bar.
The Daily Mail reports that the jet’s 100-foot frame has been extensively customized to fit Jordan’s lifestyle, allowing for up to 13 hours of uninterrupted flight time.
However, such luxury comes at a price. Maintaining the G650ER will cost Jordan nearly $2 million annually for 200 hours of flying, covering fuel, crew salaries, and engine overhauls. If he flies 400 hours, the cost could climb to almost $3 million, Business Insider reported.
In addition to his jet, Jordan recently added a custom-designed Pininfarina Battista Targamerica to his car collection. The one-of-a-kind electric supercar, valued at well over $2 million, features a sleek silver-and-blue exterior, a personalized interior with a custom cigar holder, and 1,900 horsepower. Part of Jordan’s car collection also includes a $3.5 million Venom F5 Roadster.
