Oscar-winning actress Viola Davis, known for her powerful performances in films like “Fences” and “The Woman King,” and her husband, actor and producer Julius Tennon, are one of Hollywood’s standout couples. During a recent appearance on “Hot Ones Versus,” the duo gave fans a hilarious glimpse into how real — and relatable — things were when they first began dating.
So What’s Your Credit Score?
Sitting side by side, the two spoke about their early days of romance. At one point, Julius asked Viola, “What was your credit score when we first met?” Viola immediately looked uncomfortable, shaking her head and joking, “People think I’m together. If I tell them what my credit score was…”
Julius didn’t miss a beat. “That was then, this is now. … When I met you, I knew you had bad credit! I had good credit,” he joked.
Viola admitted her credit score was a low 500 at the time. But Julius wasn’t about to let her off that easily. Laughing, he corrected her, saying, “No, it was under 500! It was down,” estimating that her score was actually between 430 and 470.
“It was that low?!” Viola exclaimed, looking shocked. Julius doubled down, telling her, “You had no credit!” And, Viola agreed was true.
But Viola teased her husband back, asking if he thought she only got with him because he had good credit. Julius assured her he knew it wasn’t the case: “No, I thought you got with me because you liked me!” he said, making them both break out into laughter. Viola then joked that his good credit did, however, make him “more attractive.”
The average FICO credit score in the United States is 717, according to the latest FICO data. An exceptional credit score is in the 800-850 range. A credit score between 300-579 is considered very poor. Sorry, Viola.
