Kelly Clarkson’s Highly Anticipated Vegas Comeback Faces Quiet Trouble as Report Hints at Massively Undersold Opening Night and Growing Behind-the-Scenes Concerns

Kelly Clarkson is facing a tough sell for her Las Vegas residency this summer, as nearly 70% of tickets remain unsold for her highly anticipated opening night, according to the US Sun. The “American Idol” winner and popular talk show host, 43, is scheduled to perform at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace for nine dates in July and August. And even though her July 4 debut is just around the corner, ticket sales are reportedly sluggish.

The ongoing ticket sales woes across the concert space have raised eyebrows, especially considering the popularity of other major stars. While Beyoncé recently had to discount her tickets on her Cowboy Carter tour to as low as $60 in some cities due to low sales, Clarkson’s cheapest seats are priced at $85, with the best tickets approaching a hefty $1,000. As of press time, only a small fraction of tickets for Clarkson’s July 4 show were purchased, with about 70 percent still up for grabs, according to the US Sun. Even the following night’s performance on July 5 is facing similar issues.

What’s Going On With Kelly?

This lackluster demand comes despite Clarkson’s significant social media push and high-profile TV appearances. Earlier this month, the singer appeared on “Today” to promote the residency, telling hosts Jenna Bush Hager and Matt Rogers that the show would be “all organic, all live” and designed to bring a “studio to stage” experience. She also excitedly teased that she hired additional musicians and singers to give the show a bigger experience.

It’s not like Vegas residencies don’t rake in the money. Garth Brooks, for exmple, played at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, ticket prices range from $253 to $2,499, with most shows sold out, according to The Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Brooks launched the residency on May 18, 2023, and it was initially scheduled to end on July 13, 2024, but due to high demand, additional dates were added. The final nine shows were held from Feb. 21 to March 9.

Then take Adele’s Weekends with Adele residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, where ticket prices started at $1,636. She played from Nov. 18, 2022, to Nov. 23, 2024. Mariah Carey’s most recent Las Vegas residency, “The Celebration of Mimi,” was held at Dolby Live at Park MGM and ran from April 12, 2024, to Feb. 15, 2025. Tickets ranged from $65 to premium seating options that reached up to $5,865 for the final show on February 15.

Ticket prices for Clarkson’s residency range from $59 for the cheapest seats to $880 for the best views. The Colosseum, which can hold up to 4,100 guests. And with the success of her latest single, “Where Have You Been,” which dropped May 1, her team probably expected tickets to be snatched up. After all, she has won three Grammy Awards and nominated for the award 15 times. She has achieved major chart success, with 26 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, including three number one hits.

Clarkson’s residency will run through Nov. 15.
