A sprawling luxury estate once belonging to filmmaker Tyler Perry has been sold for $2,453,500, well under its original asking price, according to listing agents.

Inside the Mansion
The six-bedroom, 16,000-square-foot home sits on an 11-acre parcel at 9620 Cedar Grove Road, and includes high-end amenities such as a theater, gym, tennis court, infinity pool and a six-bay garage that previously housed Perry’s collection of rare cars. Hubert Tate of Keller Williams Realty Buckhead exclusively represented the sale.

“We are excited for the new stewards, who now own a piece of Atlanta, Hollywood and real estate history,” Tate said in a press release.
When the estate first hit the market in October 2024, it was listed at $3.9 million, according to property records. Perry built the property in 2003.Over the years, it has been featured in several of his films, including “Diary of a Mad Black Woman.” The home has also appeared in more recent productions such as “Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul and Save Your Soul.”
According to listing agents, the home includes six full bathrooms and two half-baths.The six-bay garage reportedly still has space for vintage vehicles, echoing Perry’s penchant for rare cars, his former collection included a 1973 Rolls-Royce and a 1975 Ferrari, per earlier listings.

The property also features private ponds and serene landscaping, and is encircled by mature trees, giving it a secluded, estate-like feel.
This sale is just one piece of a much bigger real estate story for Perry. He has built an impressive and diverse portfolio over the years, from a Tuscan-style estate in Los Angeles to a log cabin retreat in Wyoming, a palatial home on more than 1,000 acres in the Atlanta suburb of Douglasville, and many more.

Perry has an estimated net worth of $1.4 billion. His fortune is largely due to his strategy of owning 100% of the content he creates, including films, television shows, and stage plays, as well as his own Tyler Perry Studios in southwest Atlanta, housed on 330 acres he owns.
I don’t know all about Tyler Perry but I know enough to saythat I am so impressed by the fact that he never gave up. When your homeless you have to have something mighty powerful in your soul to propel you to get up every day and keep moving forward. He did and he has succeeded beyond your wildest dreams. He would be a cool person to know.
