Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Buys Every Snicker at a Hawaii 7-Eleven to Cover His Candy Thefts Back When He Was 14 Years Old

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson recently went seeking redemption, and no, it has nothing to do with a movie role.

When The Rock was 14 years old and growing up in Hawaii, his favorite pre-workout snack from his local 7-Eleven in Hawaii was a king-sized Snickers candy bar. “Broke as hell,” Johnson used to steal the candy. He did so for almost an entire year.

Now, at age 50 with a net worth of $140 million, the former WWE star returned to the convenience store and repaid his petty debt.

Payback Time

The Rock posted an Instagram video of buying a stack of Snickers bars at that very same store.

“I finally exorcised this damn chocolate demon that’s been gnawing at me for decades. We were evicted from Hawaii in ’87 and after all these years — I finally got back home to right this wrong,” The Rock posted.

“I was broke as hell, so I used to steal a king-sized @snickers EVERY DAY from [7-Eleven] for almost a year when I was 14 [years] old on my way to the gym. The Snickers was my pre-daily workout [food]. The same clerk was there every day and always just turned her head and never busted me,” he shared.

The “Black Adam” star added, “I know this one seems VERY SILLY, but every time I come back home to Hawaii and drive by [7-Eleven]… I always knew I needed to go in and clean out every Snickers bar they had — the right way. And as a bonus, it was a lot of fun to take care of everybody who walked into [7-Eleven] while I was there. Least I could do considering all the s**t I used to steal from here.”

The Rock explained why he revisited the 7-Eleven after all of these years.

“We can’t change the past and some of the dumb stuff we may have done, but every once in a while we can add a little redeeming grace note to that situation — and maybe put a big smile on some stranger’s faces,” his post concluded.

The star also bought items for everyone at the store that day. The bill totaled $298.

In a behind-the-scenes video, the athlete-turned-actor is seen reminiscing about his struggles with a clerk who goes by the name BK, who was having difficulty counting the number of candy bars The Rock was trying to buy.

He also tipped the clerk who had the task of counting the dozens of bars.
