First responders were dispatched to the home after receiving an emergency call regarding a cardiac event. TMZ reported that Hogan was carried out on a stretcher and transported to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The wrestling legend’s sprawling estate, located on the Gulf of Mexico, became the scene of a tragic end for the icon known as the face of “Hulkamania.” The property, which Hogan purchased in 2012 for $3.3 million, is now estimated to be worth $5 million. He later acquired the neighboring home in 2016 for $1.6 million, bringing the total estimated value of the compound to $11.5 million.

Built in 2009, the 6,270-square-foot main house features five bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, high ceilings, a gym, home theater, wine cellar, elevator, resort-style pool, and hurricane-resistant windows, according to The Sun.

Hogan’s death has reignited conversations about his complicated legacy. In 2015, he was removed from the WWE Hall of Fame after recordings surfaced of Hogan using racial slurs during a private conversation. “I am a racist, to a point,” Hogan said in a transcript that also included repeated use of a racial epithet, NBC News reported. He later apologized, calling his language “unacceptable,” but critics have long questioned the sincerity of his apology.

Hogan was re-inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2020 and made a notable appearance at the 2024 Republican National Convention during which he praised Donald Trump.

Beyond wrestling, Hogan faced personal and financial turmoil. His 2009 divorce from first wife, Linda Hogan, was public and costly. According to court documents, Linda received $3 million in real estate, several luxury vehicles, a large portion of their liquid assets, and nearly half the revenue from businesses they co-owned. They had the VH-1 reality show “Hogan Knows Best,” which aired for four seasons from 2005 until 2007. He was next married to Jennifer McDaniel, from 2010 to 2021. He filed for divorce and their settlement was private.

Hogan was also embroiled in a lengthy legal battle with Gawker over a sex tape that they published portions of without his consent. The lawsuit resulted in the publication paying him $31 million in a settlement in 2016.

Hogan leaves behind his current wife, Sky Daily, children, Brooke Hogan and Nick Hogan, and a fortune worth an estimated at about $25 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
