Talk about special delivery. Hip-hop boss Rick Ross bought a $1.5 million watch from the famed Jacob & Co. jewelry brand and it was delivered in an armored vehicle and protected by security guards.
The Watch of all Watches?
Ross doesn’t seem to mind dipping into his $45 million fortune, paying over $1 million for the Mystery Tourbillion timepiece.
He described it as Rozay, noting the watch was “beautiful” and “flawless.”
The watch features the company’s iconic triple-axis tourbillons, placed back-to-back. According to a Jacob & Co. video explaining the watch, the Mystery Tourbillon “combines high watchmaking, a world first with two linked central, back-to-back triple axis tourbillons, with high jewelry, as the case is invisibly set with baguette hexagonal diamonds and the dial is set with hexagonal, ‘overlapping’ diamonds.”
Ross’ watch features rubies, sapphires, an alligator strap and an 18K white gold folding buckle set with 18 baguette white diamonds.
The watch has a gyroscope-looking ball in the middle that tells time.
“Oh, this armored delivery huh? This is how you doing it huh?” Rick Ross said, shooting a video from his Georgia mansion.
“Yes sir, we gotta make sure the goods are safe,” the security guard replied.
Ross’ Taste for Luxury
The Mystery Tourbillion is not the only fancy accessory in Ross’ name. Ross spends a lot of money on jewelry.
He reportedly has an infamous face pendant costing $1.5 million – which, if determined to be the case, would make it the most expensive necklace in the rap game. A massive chain features a pendant that has an image of his face made with yellow and black diamonds. The self-portrait even has Ross’ sunglasses, goatee and diamond grill.
Then there’s his signature Maybach Music Group chain, said to be a half-a-kilo rose gold Cuban link with emerald cut diamonds, reportedly setting him back $500,000.
Ross also had another prized Jacob & Co. watch he claimed he got for $2 million in 2021. It has been described as an 18k white gold “Billionaire Ashoka” model, a model for which the jewelry company is known. While some say the watch was gifted to Ross, he seemed to let folks believe he bought it.
