Percy “Master P” Miller announced he will serve as the appointed chairman of the board at Launch Cart, an alternative to e-commerce giant Shopify.
“I’m excited to join the Launch Cart team as Chairman of the Board,” said Miller in a press release. “I’m looking forward to helping the team reach new heights through my experience, leadership, and influence. I’m passionate about helping entrepreneurs succeed, and I’m confident that together, we can make a real impact and take Launch Cart to the next level.”
About Launch Cart
Launch Cart, which started in 2019, is a small San Diego County-based company with about 15 employees, according to LinkedIn. The e-commerce platform lets users create, scale, and manage an online store. While it is a free platform, it charges a fee per transaction.
Since its debut, the company claims it has created more than 41,000 stores, and more than 5 million products were created, including more than 600 ready-to-sell products.
The platform that does not function like a marketplace like Etsy or eBay but as a free build-it-yourself website that integrates with print-on-demand and drop shipping services like Printful, used for scaling brands and enterprise-level businesses.
Similar to Shopify, Spacespace, WooCommerce, or Wix, Launch Cart offers easy-to-build digital storefront capabilities for people looking to start their website at a freemium affordance.
While Shopify is arguably the most popular e-commerce website builder platform, according to Launch Cart it has fewer advanced features than it has, such as features like list builder pop-up, drag and drop page builder, product reviews, promo notification bar, and back-in-stock notification are all omitted and require third-party applications and workarounds.
“We’re thrilled to have the iconic philanthropic businessman Percy Miller join the Board of Directors as Chairman. With his entrepreneurial spirit and deep understanding of the power of business, our partnership will make it easier for aspiring entrepreneurs to realize their dreams of starting an online business, building a brand, and generating income,” Launch Cart co-founders Greg Writer and Bernt Ullmann said in a press statement.
Master P the Businessman
Miller is undoubtedly knowledgeable in operating a business, with more than 25 years of experience in the entertainment and food industries. His entrepreneurship is the highlight of his career — he had massive success with the label he founded, No Limits Records, which sold more than 100 million albums. Then there is Rap Snacks, of which he is the CEO. The snack company has struck deals with Walmart and Sam’s Club. These are just two examples of his business ventures.
Master P’s business ventures, ranging from telecommunications, real estate, movies, food, and apparel, include No Limit Clothing; No Limit Sports Management; a luxury clothing brand called Moneyatti; Rap Noodles, a ramen noodle company; and his food brand Uncle P’s. Added to this is his breakfast cereal deal with Snoop Dogg, through which the two rap moguls have landed a deal with Post Foods.
