A Hollywood Hills home once owned by R&B singer Chris Brown is back on the market — and while the infamous graffiti that sparked neighborhood outrage more than a decade ago is gone from the exterior, the property still boasts an unmistakable artistic edge.
The home went back on sale just before Brown was arrested May 15 in Manchester, England, for allegedly hitting music producer Abe Diaw with a tequila bottle at a London nightclub in 2023. According to the Sun, Brown was detained at the five-star Lowry Hotel on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. Th 36-year-old singer was later charged.
Meanwhile Back in Hollywood
Earlier he listed his California home at $2.9 million. The 2,800-square-foot residence features bold murals, luxurious amenities, and a lingering dose of celebrity history. Brown purchased the home in 2011 and made headlines in 2013 after spray-painting cartoon-style monster faces on the front façade, prompting backlash from neighbors and a citation from the city. He sold the home the following year for $1.69 million.
Though the monster murals have since been removed from the outside, the home’s interior continues to reflect Brown’s artistic sensibilities. Inside, walls are adorned with colorful and playful street-art-inspired designs, including a Sonic the Hedgehog mural near the staircase, a forest-themed mural in the game room, and a cartoon creature wrapped around the oven in the designer Boffi kitchen.
The property offers more than just eccentric artwork. Modern design elements like floor-to-ceiling glass walls allow natural light to pour into the space, while an elevator provides easy access to all levels. The primary suite includes a spa-style wet room, a massage shower system, and a striking red freestanding bathtub — blending contemporary luxury with creative flair.
Outside, the backyard offers a resort-style escape, complete with a saltwater pool and spa, sand-lined cabanas, cascading waterfalls, and a custom LED light installation that creates a multicolored visual spectacle after dark.
Craig Strong of Compass is representing the listing. Real estate agent Jessica Vollhardt is slated to host an open house on Sunday, May 11.
“This home is truly one-of-a-kind,” said Strong. “It’s perfect for someone looking to make a bold statement while enjoying modern luxury in a private setting.”
While Brown’s name is no longer attached to the deed, his influence remains palpable. From the vibrant artwork to the unconventional design choices, the house reflects a fusion of celebrity culture and urban creativity. It may not scream “Chris Brown” from the street anymore, but step inside and the echoes of his style are hard to miss.
With its colorful past and high-end present, the property offers potential buyers a rare opportunity to own a piece of Hollywood Hills real estate that balances personality with polish — and a dash of music history to boot.
