Did Cheryl Hines Snub RFK Jr.’s $4.3M Georgetown Gesture? The Real Reason She’s Staying In Brentwood

In a bid to apparently impress his wife, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. reportedly spent $4.34 million on a historic Georgetown townhouse in Washington, D.C. But it seems it might have been in vain.

QUITO, ECUADOR – MAY 24: U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (R) and his wife Cheryl Hines (L) arrive for Daniel Noboa’s presidential inauguration at National Assembly building on May 24, 2025 in Quito, Ecuador. Noboa inaugurates his first complete 4-year term after serving 17 months in office due to President Guillermo Lasso “cross death” call to dissolve parliament and early elections. The 125-year-old, four-bedroom, 3.5-bath property, initially listed for $4.85 million, was purchased by Kennedy in April 2025, according to Realtor.com.

Will She Move?

Despite the home’s charm and glowing reviews, Kennedy’s wife, actress Cheryl Hines, reportedly has no interest in relocating from their Brentwood, California, residence. According to the New York Post, Hines is also said to be uninterested in his new role as Health & Human Services secretary under the Trump administration or moving to Washington.

RFK Jr. has remained somewhat in the doghouse amid widespread reports of an alleged affair with former New York Magazine reporter Olivia Nuzzi.

Nuzzi was ultimately terminated after an internal review, revealed on October 21, 2024, concluded she lied about sending explicit photos to Kennedy while she was supposed to be interviewing him at his home.

Hines has since reportedly distanced herself from her husband, but RFK Jr. has been trying to live up to being a good spouse, with sources at the New York Post reporting its alleged source is saying, “[RFK is] keeping their marriage alive and that the two could become Washington’s latest power couple.”

Hines, who has been married to the health nut secretary since 2014, does not like living in Washington, calling it a “deadbeat town,” The NY Post reported.

RFK, a former Democrat turned MAGA, is a member of the Kennedy dynasty. He is the son of former U.S. Attorney General and Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and Ethel Skakel Kennedy, and the nephew of President John F. Kennedy. But unlike many of the other Kennedys, JFK Jr. has not become endeared to most of America. His anti-vaccination zeal and policies have been more than controversial. And while his history of medical misinformation has often been called out, he remains responsible for overseeing the country’s public health, welfare, and social services programs.
