Tennis star Naomi Osaka has made a profitable return on her Los Angeles real estate investment. Three years after purchasing a Tarzana property from celebrity couple Nick and Vanessa Lachey for $6.3 million, Osaka has sold it back to them for $7.95 million, reports The Wall Street Journal.

The property was not officially on the market at the time of the sale, though the local multiple listings service recorded an asking price of $8.295 million. During her ownership, the four-time Grand Slam champion renovated the home and added a new structure featuring a gym and a “recovery center.”
About half-acre gated estate includes an outdoor pool, hot tub, and pickleball court. The main residence offers five bedrooms and mountain views.
The Lacheys first purchased the property for about $5 million in 2020. Nick Lachey, known for his work with the boy band 98 Degrees, and Vanessa Lachey, an actor, are co-hosts of the Netflix reality hit “Love Is Blind.” The couple bought a separate home in Encino last year for $6.1 million but recently listed it for $7.495 million.
In the gym facility on the Tarzana property, neon signs display motivational messages such as “Nothing good happens without discipline” and “If it was easy, everyone would do it.” Osaka’s personal logo, a bear holding a flower, is embedded into the gym floor. The recovery center includes a sauna, cold plunge, steam room, and massage table.
Osaka, who has won two U.S. Open and two Australian Open titles, returned to professional tennis in January 2024 following the birth of her daughter. In May, she was defeated in the first round of the French Open, and earlier this month, she fell in the Canadian Open final to 18-year-old Victoria Mboko, who she seemed to snub.
Mboko idolizes Osaka but in Osaka’s brief, 45-word post-match interview she failed to acknowledge Mboko, prompting backlash on social media for “shameful” and unsportsmanlike behavior. The 27-year-old later said she simply forgot to congratulate her opponent.
Tarzana, once a ranch owned by “Tarzan” author Edgar Rice Burroughs, is known for its upscale homes, golf courses, and country clubs. The median home sale price in July was $1.3 million, according to Redfin.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Osaka’s estimated net worth in 2024 was $45 million.
