Nicki Minaj Dodges Losing Mansion as Trump Love, Don Lemon Slur, and ‘Illegal’ Status Swirl Around Her

Nicki Minaj’s last-minute legal scramble to save her $20 million Hidden Hills, Los Angeles, mansion is unfolding at the same time the rapper is facing intense backlash for her political turn, her online attacks on Don Lemon, and renewed scrutiny over past comments about her immigration status. As the drama played out, Minaj quietly moved to settle a half-million-dollar judgment just hours before a judge was prepared to order the forced sale of her home.

Drama, Drama, Drama

The legal crisis stemmed from a default judgment awarded to a German security guard who sued Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, over an alleged assault backstage during a 2019 concert in Frankfurt. Petty was sued for allegedly attacking Thomas Weidenmüller. Weidenmüller sued. The court ruled that Minaj was responsible for more than $500,000 after neither she nor Petty responded to the lawsuit. When no payment was made, the plaintiff pushed for the sale of the rapper‘s California estate to satisfy the debt.

Court records show the home, valued at roughly $20 million, carried a mortgage exceeding $13 million. A forced sale would have still left millions on the table after liens and exemptions.

Just as a Los Angeles judge was preparing to authorize the sale, Minaj’s legal team reached an eleventh-hour agreement to satisfy the judgment.

It’s been a drama-filled few months fo Minaj. She has drawn criticism for publicly embracing Donald Trump and appearing at conservative events, while launching aggressive attacks against journalists and political figures. Her online tirade against former CNN anchor turned independent journalist Don Lemon, which included homophobic language, triggered widespread backlash, even among longtime fans–known as the barbz. Adding to this were resurfaced past comments she made on social mdia about her own immigration status and coming to the U.S. as an “illegal.”

Minaj, who has an extimated net worth of $150-190 million, has reportedly lost millions of followers. Despite it all, Minaj continues to double down on her MAGA support and her bashing anyone who seems to call her–or Trump–out.
