Megan Thee Stallion has walked away from Klay Thompson, one of the NBA’s wealthiest stars.

Couple Drama
The Grammy-winning rapper confirmed on April 25 that she ended her relationship with Thompson after less than a year of dating, hinting that the Dallas Mavericks guard has been unfaithful and saying trust and respect were “non-negotiable.”
“I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay,” Megan said in a statement to E! News. “Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward.”
She followed that with an Instagram message, writing, “Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet.’”
With Megan’s music empire and Klay’s NBA fortune, the pair looked like a major power couple with serious financial potential. Together, their combined net worth reached an estimated $180 million.
Thompson’s estimated net worth sits at a massive $140 million, compared to Megan’s reported $40 million.
Over his 14 NBA seasons, Thompson has earned nearly $300 million in salary alone, with total career earnings topping $350 million once endorsements are included. His major deals include a five-year, $190 million max contract with the Golden State Warriors in 2019 and his current three-year, $50 million deal with the Dallas Mavericks signed in 2024.
He also locked in a lucrative 10-year shoe deal with Anta worth a base $80 million, plus bonuses and royalties tied to sales. Add endorsement deals with brands like Gillette and BodyArmor.
Megan is far from struggling.
Her estimated $40 million net worth comes from hit records, sold-out tours, endorsements, and major business moves. Her Hot Girl Summer Tour reportedly grossed more than $40 million, while deals with Revlon, Popeyes, Netflix, and Cheetos added millions more to her empire.
She also secured ownership of her masters and publishing through her 2024 Warner Music Group deal, allowing her to release music independently through her own label, Hot Girl Productions.
But it seems the breakup has caused her to end her highly successful Broadway run early. It was announced on April 27, Megan will leave “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” earlier than planned. The rapper revealed her final performance as Zidler will be May 1, instead of May 17, saying she needed time to reset after recent personal and health challenges.
