‘We Disrupted the Industry’: How Zendaya Makes Sure Stylist Law Roach Gets Paid on Her Fashion Deals

Law Roach is not just dressing Zendaya. The celebrity stylist and the Emmy-winning actress have transformed their more than 15-year partnership into a business arrangement that challenges how fashion professionals are compensated.

Behind their headline-making red-carpet appearances and luxury fashion partnerships is a financial strategy that gives Roach a stake in Zendaya’s fashion-related deals. The actress has reportedly made it clear that opportunities involving her fashion career should include the stylist who helped shape her image.

During an October 2026 appearance on the “Aspire with Emma Grede” podcast, Roach explained how their relationship goes beyond the traditional client-stylist arrangement.

“I’m paid for my involvement. She talks about it all the time like any fashion deal that she does. I’m included in it … We disrupted the industry,” he explained.

She is also willing to walk away from opportunities that exclude him.

According to Roach, Zendaya also stands firm when companies attempt to negotiate opportunities without him. He says her response is: “Oh no if he’s not coming, I’m not doing it.”

That commitment has potentially significant financial implications for Roach. In August 2025, fashion journalist Lauren Sherman reported in Puck that he receives a percentage of Zendaya’s earnings from fashion-related projects. The exact percentage and contractual terms have not been publicly disclosed. There is also no evidence that the arrangement extends to her acting salaries or every endorsement.

Zendaya confirmed her commitment to including Roach in her fashion business in a 2023 interview with Elle.

“He’s involved in every fashion contract, everything I do. If I have an opportunity where he can come with me, he’s always going to be there,” she explained.

Their arrangement reflects a partnership built over years of collaboration. Zendaya was 14 when she began working with Roach, who helped shape her image as she transitioned from Disney Channel performer to Hollywood star. Their work together eventually connected her with luxury brands including Valentino, Bulgari, and Louis Vuitton.

Their collaboration has also extended beyond styling. In 2019, Roach served as creative director for the Tommy x Zendaya collection.

The financial value of that partnership is also evident during film publicity campaigns, when fashion becomes part of a movie’s marketing strategy.

For “Dune: Part Two,” Roach dressed Zendaya in a vintage Thierry Mugler robotic suit and the fashion moment went viral.

Roach argues that these appearances do more than generate headlines. They help sell movie tickets.

“The numbers are saying what we do on this press tour is actually filling seats,” he told Grede.

“So now I have to fight a little. I have to fight for more because I know that I have numbers to support it,” he said.

Roach sees styling as a valuable commercial enterprise rather than simply a service. He revealed that, at his peak, styling alone generated between $4 million and $5 million in revenue. He has also built a recognizable personal brand around the trademarked title “Image Architect,” positioning himself as a creative strategist rather than merely a wardrobe consultant.

His clientele has included Céline Dion, Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian, and Megan Thee Stallion, but Zendaya remains his most longterm partnership.

When Roach announced his retirement from celebrity styling in 2023, speculation surrounded the future of their professional relationship. He continued working with Zendaya, however, and appears to have several other celebrity clients he currently is styling.

“Our relationship is like family, so I don’t think I’m going anywhere — and even if I wanted to, she wouldn’t let me,” he told Elle.
