For a 5-year-old, Serena Williams’ daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., has a pretty impressive business portfolio. She is the youngest two-team owners in pro sports history, her father announced last week.
In addition to being co-owner of National Women’s Soccer League team Angel City FC, which is also partly owned by Eva Longoria, Natalie Portman, and Christina Aguilera, she’s recently become a part owner of the TGL golf league team the Los Angeles Golf Club.
All in the Family
Olympia’s proud father made the announcement via Instagram, which read: “Announcing my fellow co-owner of @wearelagc…@olympiaohanian!” the Reddit co-founder captioned the post. “Olympia is the youngest owner in professional sports (@weareangelcity) and is now the youngest 2-team owner in professional sports… She’ll be joined by her future sibling 🥳.”
Given how young Olympia is, no one truly expects her to understand the gravity of owning a team. Ohanian told People in March that Olympia “doesn’t actually understand” her stake in these ventures.
“Right now, all Olympia knows is that Angel City FC is our team, and she loves cheering for them,” Ohanian, the lead investor in Angel City FC. “I think as she gets older, maybe she’ll come to see the different layers to it…Obviously, being the youngest owner of pro sports is pretty fun, but she doesn’t actually understand that she is the youngest owner in pro sports…Try to keep that for as long as we can.”
How the Investments were Made
Ohanian has expressed that it was his daughter’s passion for soccer that helped influence his decision to give the tot a stake in the team. In a 2020 Instagram post, he sead: “As someone who spends hours kicking around a football with my two-year-old daughter, I want her to have a front-row seat to this revolution. I’m personally investing on behalf of my family because creating more opportunities in women’s sports is important to my wife @serenawilliams and me, and we want to be a part of making a better future for our daughter @olympiaohanian.”

Setting Up a Financial Legacy
And it’s no surprise that Serena and Ohanian are putting the pieces together to set their daughter up for success. The retired tennis champion’s net worth is $260 million, while her tech mogul husband is worth about $80 million, according to EssentiallySports.
But her entrepreneur dad isn’t stopping with Olympia. While she may hold the title of the youngest owner now, based on his Instagram post showcasing the announcement, he plans to do the same for baby No. 2, who is due this summer.
Williams revealed she was pregnant with her second child at the 2023 Met Gala.
