Kevin Hunter Charges Wendy Williams’ Sister Conspired With Show Production To Steal Millions

Wendy Williams’s ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, is often portrayed as the villain in the talk show host’s demise. However, Hunter is charging that Williams’ sister stole money and conspired with producers of “The Wendy Williams Show.”

Where’s Wendy’s Money

The Lifetime docuseries “Where Is Wendy Williams” aired in February and chronicled the television personality’s life beginning in 2022. Viewers were able to see Williams’ struggles and desire to have a relationship with her family. Her ex-husband, Hunter, was portrayed as playing a huge role in Williams’ life, but he is not ready to take all the blame. Instead, Hunter points to William’s sister, Wanda, an attorney residing in Florida, as someone who hurt the talk show host.

“Ok so everyone heard “f**k Kevin” through docu-series,” Hunter shared on Instagram. “Np the SHOW took precedent over EVERYTHING including family. What I guess they let out was that while she was in Florida getting recovery 3 yrs ago there were the secret calls her SISTER would set up with DEMBAR MERCURY (MORT & IRA). With false pretense that she would be getting show back. That was a lie and broke s**t more than anything.”

Hunter, who has a reported net worth of $500,000, and Williams were married for 21 years. The couple divorced as a result of Hunter cheating and fathering a child outside of their marriage. Amidst their divorce, Williams was dealing with health issues related to Graves’ disease as well as her addiction to alcohol, which caused her to stop appearing on “The Wendy Williams Show.”

Hunter argues in his post that Williams’ sister, Wanda, stepped in to negotiate with the producers and receive an insurance claim as a result of Williams being unable to work. Hunter believes that Wanda stole an estimated $5 to $15 million working in partnership with the production company, Debmar-Mercury.

“They only were trying to get her there to satisfy an insurance claim so they could obviously replace losses and the money that they were STEALING (5-15mil),” Kevin Hunter Sr. continued. “They wanted CONTROL her SISTER was trying to get ultimate control herself and was medical proxy @the time. But her naiveté allowed her only to be PLAYED and once she got back to NY they kicked her sister out and she spiraled WORSE.”

In 2023, it was reported that Williams was living in a cognitive health facility as a result of what was publicly revealed last month as aphasia and frontotemporal dementia. Williams’ ongoing health challenges led her bank, Wells Fargo to freeze her accounts and place her under guardianship.

Hunter and His Own Legal Matters

In March 2022, Hunter filed a lawsuit against Debmar-Mercury, the production company behind “The Wendy Williams Show,” alleging wrongful termination from his longstanding position as executive producer. The complaint alleged that his termination was based on his marital status, which is prohibited under the New York City Human Rights Law.
