Denise Richards May Have Escaped Charlie Sheen Chaos, But Her Latest Divorce is Full of Drama. Why She Had To Flee Her $3.3M Home With 15 Dogs

When life hands you lemons, Denise Richards gets moving trucks. The actress found herself back at square one this weekend, staging what amounted to an animal rescue operation at the $3.3 million Calabasas home she once shared with soon-to-be-ex-husband Aaron Phypers.

Armed with four professional movers, multiple trucks, and, according to TMZ, her father as backup, the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum executed a carefully orchestrated mission to extract fifteen dogs from increasingly hostile territory.

No Longer Home Sweet Home

The 54-year-old arrived Saturday morning dressed for business in black sweats, sneakers, and a baseball cap, ready to tackle what had become far more than a typical moving day. Workers donned face masks to combat overwhelming dust and odors that had accumulated throughout the $3.5 million rental property, while dad Irv Richards assisted in the delicate process of transferring the animals into transport crates for their journey to safer quarters, according to Page Six.

The challenging conditions inside the residence mirror the toxic atmosphere that has enveloped Richards’ latest failed marriage since Phypers filed for divorce in July.

The 52-year-old has publicly branded the home a “hoarding situation,” even providing a damning guided tour to “Inside Edition” that showcased stained carpets, moth-damaged clothing, and widespread neglect. His narrative paints Richards as an irresponsible pet owner who abandoned both property and animals two years ago, leaving him to deal with the mounting problems.

Richards fires back with equal force, asserting in court documents that Phypers and his family members — including parents and a brother currently occupying the lower level— “severely damaged the property and left the house in a state of disarray.”

The actress had been legally prohibited from entering the premises until a Sept. 8 hearing finally granted her permission to retrieve personal belongings without violating existing restraining orders.

After Aaron filed for divorce on July 7, Denise responded a week later by seeking and being granted a temporary restraining order, detailing multiple allegations of domestic abuse that her husband has denied.

The divorce proceedings have spiraled into a full-contact sport of allegations and counter-allegations. Phypers has lobbed explosive claims ranging from substance abuse to infidelity involving a reality show trainer, while Richards has accused her estranged husband of “frequent” and “aggressive” physical violence, which he categorically denies.

The most inflammatory accusation involves Phypers admitting to euthanizing one of Richards’ dogs without permission, justifying his actions by claiming she hadn’t interacted with the animals in two years.

What’s worse is that Phyers is trying to go after her $250,000 monthly income she makes through television, brand deals, and OnlyFans content.

This marital meltdown represents a recurrent theme for Richards, whose previous union with Charlie Sheen imploded in equally spectacular fashion back in 2005.

The relationship with the tiger-blooded actor left a trail of financial complications still haunting her nearly two decades later, despite receiving approximately $55,000 monthly in child support for years. Court records reveal ongoing disputes over unpaid obligations, with Richards currently pursuing legal action claiming Sheen owes $450,000 in back support, according to People.

The contrast between Saturday’s grim extraction and her hopeful 2018 Malibu wedding to Phypers couldn’t be starker. What promised to be a fresh chapter following years of Sheen-related chaos has devolved into another public spectacle featuring familiar themes of abuse allegations, financial disputes, and character assassination.

As curious neighbors watched truck after truck depart loaded with furniture, personal effects, and crates containing her four-legged family members, Richards was effectively closing the book on another relationship disaster. The day represented more than property retrieval — it was a woman taking responsibility for innocent creatures caught in the crossfire of adult dysfunction.

Now Richards faces the familiar challenge of rebuilding, this time with 15 rescued dogs and the sobering realization that finding lasting love in Hollywood remains as elusive as ever.
