Snoop Dogg is expanding his crypto presence with his latest partnership with Roobet, a chain of crypto casinos. He is working with its parent company, Raw Entertainment.
Raw Entertainment specializes in gambling facilities and casinos and is based on the Dutch Caribbean island of Curaçao.
There has been no explanation if Snoop, who has a net worth of a purported $150 million, is a financial partner or if he is merely lending his face to the brand.
Roobet
Roobet was launched in 2019 and went live in 2021 as a division of Raw Entertainment. The company has already made more than 3 billion wagers made on its site, according to Decrypt.
American gamblers are blocked from using the site.
According to the Robot website, due to NetEnt restrictions, Roobet is not allowed at all in the U.S. Playing Roobet is not allowed in the U.S., United Kingdom, Isle of Man, Germany, Spain, France, Denmark, Austria, Netherlands, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Gibraltar, Hungary, and many others.
Online gambling is not permitted in all U.S. states. The Department of Justice has maintained that, under the 1961 Wire Act, all Internet gambling by bettors in the United States is illegal. But, in 2011, the DOJ allowed states to pass legislation concerning online gambling, allowing them to decriminalize the activity.
Where Snoop Comes In
As part of its Snoop promotion, those who deposit $500 or more money into the website’s in-game wallet will receive 1,000 “Free Spins worth $0.10 each,” a reference to its fortune wheel.
Snoop Dogg has been the company’s appointed “Chief Ganjaroo Officer” and his role will be to promote the casinos through his experience in the entertainment industry and his expertise in the metaverse.
“Turns out, I’ve been a kangaroo this entire time,” said Snoop Dogg in a press release. The kangaroo is the mascot for Roobet.
“These guys are doing something different. This partnership just feels natural, and we’re going to blaze a trail for the future of online entertainment. I [have] been sayin’ Roooooo for a long time now – they bring the ultimate player experience, we share the love of doing new things, and we care about our fans – so together we’re gonna change the game and do it better than it’s ever been done,” added Snoop.
Roobet co-founder said he is excited to have Snoop onboard as part of its gaming operations, saying the Long Beach rapper legitimately understands the future of gaming.
“Since day one, our mission has been to push the boundaries of what a gaming brand can be, and Snoop’s a real visionary,” Duea said in a press release. “Together, we’re going to truly revolutionize the online entertainment experience. Our community means everything to us, and we’re committed to providing them with the most exciting and immersive online casino experience out there. With Snoop by our side, the future of digital entertainment is looking brighter than ever. Get ready!”
Snoop Seems to Love Crypto
As Finurah previously reported, many of Snoop’s latest business ventures include crypto.
Snoop Dogg acquired Death Row Records in February 2022, and he plans to reform the defunct label into a revival of West Coast rap. However, the revival is also a launch board for his NFT business model.
Snoop is also one of the few celebrities on board the metaverse.
