Travis Hunter Said ‘I Do’ Without a Prenup–And Now His $46.5M Deal Could Be Split in Two

NFL rookie Travis Hunter and his longtime partner Leanna Lenee were married Saturday in a private ceremony in east Tennessee, where the Jacksonville Jaguars first-round draft pick stunned his new wife with a lavish wedding gift: a luxury vehicle worth more than $300,000.

Lenee has faced criticism and backlash from fans for various reasons, including her reactions during events and her social media posts. Some fans have questioned her intentions and her character, suggesting she may be with Travis for his fame and wealth. Other fans have criticized her for seemingly being upset or disinterested during events involving Travis and fans.

No Prenup Necessary

And more pushback against Lenee has come with news of the wedding. It seems Hunter is rumored to have decided to marry Lenee without a prenuptial agreement. This has raised eyebrows—and stirred controversy. The 22-year-old Jacksonville Jaguars star reportedly opted out of legal protections despite widespread speculation about Lenee’s intentions and past behavior. Rapper Cam’ron even weighed in, warning that love can blind men to financial risk. “Unless she’s making more than me, I’m signing a prenup,” he said recently on his podcast “It Is What It Is.”

Still, Hunter appears unfazed, choosing love over legalities. And he also celebrated the wedding in a big way.

The 22-year-old former Colorado standout and Heisman Trophy finalist handed Lenee a pair of scissors to cut the ribbon on a black Mercedes-Benz AMG G63 BRABUS 800, a custom SUV known for its high-end performance and sleek design. Video of the reveal quickly made the rounds on social media, showing Lenee overcome with emotion as she unwrapped the vehicle in front of cheering friends and family.

Hunter, who rose to national prominence during under coach Deion Sanders at Jackson State and the University of Colorado, was selected with the No. 2 overall pick by Jacksonville in last month’s NFL draft. His rookie contract is expected to be valued at around $46 million over four years.

The wedding took place at a rustic barn venue nestled between Knoxville and Chattanooga. Guests wore black, while the couple stood out in white — Hunter in a crisp white suit and Lenee in a flowing gown with lace accents. The decor was understated yet elegant, in keeping with the couple’s Southern roots.

Dinner included a salad starter followed by a choice of seared stuffed chicken or petite Maine lobster served over garlic mashed potatoes, according to the Daily Mail. The newlyweds shared their first dance to Alicia Keys’ “If I Ain’t Got You,” enhanced by a smoke machine that added a dramatic flair to the moment.

The couple capped the evening with a towering five-tier wedding cake before dancing the night away with family and close friends.

Though Hunter’s star has steadily risen in recent years, Lenee experienced a different kind of spotlight in December during the Heisman Trophy ceremony. Online critics targeted her subdued reaction to Hunter’s nomination, prompting her to defend herself in a heartfelt video shared on TikTok.

“This Heisman ceremony, this is making me so mad because anyone who knows me knows I support Travis in every win, everything he does, because I truly love that man,” she said. “He is perfect in my eyes.”

Lenee explained that her reaction was misinterpreted and shaped by the pressure of the moment, including the presence of cameras. She said she remained seated initially to avoid drawing attention away from Hunter and his family.

“I was just sitting there crying. I wanted to take it in myself too,” she said in the eight-minute video. “I was super excited for him. But I wanted the moment to be about him and his family.”

The couple met in college and have been together for several years, often posting supportive messages and videos about each other on social media. Their wedding day was seen by fans as a celebration of young love, loyalty, and shared ambition — an off-the-field victory for the rising NFL star and his bride.
